Brake pipe flare die

Come to do a male fitting and, can I find the 3/16 die, can I bugga!! Anybody got a spare die? Swap for beer tokens

You know the little black jobbie that squishes the pipe back?

Done quite a bit of searching but can't find any where that sells them separatly, don't fancy buying a complete new kit just for this, although they are cheap enough but I know as soon as send off payment mine will show up

My set is this one but I think they are all the same anyway.

Cheers

Rich

Most pipe flares these days use the 4.72mm? die. What threads do your master cylinder, wheel cylinders and calipers have? If they are 10mm you need the metric die.

3/16" is the standard size imperial or metric

4.72mm is just a metric conversion of an imperial size.

However the shape of flares differ from between metric and imperial but in practice it doesn't matter.

The pipe I've got is 3/16 and yes the fittings I have are metric (sierra) and have been using the one that came in the set in the picture although my case is red without any problems but just can't find the damn thing.

Have you got a spare one Rusty Nuts ?

Cheers

The pipe flaring kit I have is a Sykes Pickavant lever type . I have only used the type you have once , too much messing around . You will find that the underside of the flare is also different for the imperial and metric flares, don't know if your tool produces different ones?

You will get the die you want here
http://www.ccw-tools.com/

It is a Draper item and is peanuts but the post is ott in comparison. I waited till I needed something else then put it in the order.
