4X4 2.8 running gear
Is it possible to use the running gear from the 2.8 4X4 as I have the chance of one and it might be a good donor if it's possible.

Yes that is what i have used, I converted the gearbox to 2 wheel drive by using the tail housing from a normal rear wheel drive type nine,
diff/driveshafts all standard.
removed the front diff and simply put sump on from either a granada or capri v6 and hey presto job done!!

useless sierra stuck in my garage,as I bet everone can level with my wife is not best pleased at the moment.

Yep I'm using the back end off a 2.8 4x4, nice diff, hubs, brakes, and you can sell the engine and gearbox on ebay for 100 quid if you're
lucky like me
or build a 4x4 locost like liam.. nutter

lol - I've got a 2.9 XR4x4i sitting outside my garage
I was going to use it to build a dax 4x4 but went for a 2wd instead (I didn't really want the V6 anyway and 4x4 costs a bit more) - I'm
still using the same type of rear axle but mine is from a granada (identical apart from 5 stud hubs) with an LSD from a 4x4
there is already at least one Dax 2.8 4x4 on the road (I think he has a turbo ) - and I think there are a couple of 4x4 locosts / DIY 4x4
conversions too
