how do i open a 306 if the key snaped in the door

need to help out a young guy in my street hes snaped his key in his door of his 306 ,he phone the dealer and they want £180 just to come out to see it.

no im not going to shash the window.

Must admit brick came to mind.....
How about spare key in the boot or passengers door? assuming its central locking, either way he could get inside.

Fine nosed pliers to get the key out or turn it....

if the keys in the lock can you not just now turn it with a large screwdriver?

can you try
a: a very powerful magnet
b: a very strong glue onto the end of the stub
c: fine tweezers or needle nose pliers
d: tipping car on its side and giving it a thump

what about entry via the passenger door or boot? if you don't know how to do that, ask any chav that may be walking by.

I heard that a tennis ball with a hole the size of the lock cut on it and placed tight on the lock and pushed towards the door real quickly forces the air go out of the ball and into the lock, so fast that the lock opens...
Not sure if this is an urban legend or not but in this case worth a try... I never tried it myself...
Make sure you don't mash the whole delicate Frensh door though... build the pressure gradually. And try it on the passenger side.
I heard it works with VW and Audi locks, maybe they are different than Peugeot though.

Have you tried ringing a local locksmith?

Ive seen somene open a car by prising the top of the door gently enough to slide a wire coathanger in (or similar straightened out) and pull the lock pin up.

Has he got it covered on his insurance?
Otherwise AA / RAC type service will get in if a member, once saw them open the boot on a Mondeo by opening the shut at the top of the hatch and spiking a cable on the loom with a prong connected to a battery which activated the central locking which was pretty neat.
What about the Stanley knife and window rubber trick, just costs a new window rubber then?

Straighten out a wire coat hanger, bend it backwards about 4 inches from the end to create a hook, slip it down between the glass and door and fish around until you catch the lock and pop it up.

If you watch the lock pin, you'll see it move around when you hit the rght place, then you know you're in the right place.

You do realise that all of the above options are a total waste of time Because when you get into the car you cant start it So if you do get in the next post will be how do you hotwire a 306

In which case he's better off pulling the bit of key out with pliers and seeing if he can get a key made up from the two bits.

It may be possible to get the key number from the main dealers if he takes the V55 and proof of identity, they sometimes have the information? Worth a phone call?

wire down the door and pull the sill button then strip the door remove the lock you then can pull the broken key out of the barrel take both parts and have a key cut if not pm me and i will tell you another way to get bit more involved but will work

they can cut a key from the reg number normally. if its original locks and not to old...
then remove the lock as mentioned, tap key out etc etc....
