custom exhaust system? or aftermarket performance units?
I was going to have a custom exhaust system made but I'm beginning to wonder if I'd be better off with an aftermarket performance manifold
(there's loads for my engine, some quite cheap too)
A bolt in performance CAT.
A bolt on back box.
And just have the bends and straights made up by a man who can (someone I know is good at welding stainless together!)
That way I'd have the two sensor bolts already installed in the manifold and cat, i.e. the primary and secondary heated oxygen sensor!
Or do I go for a completely custom exhaust? Decisions decisions?

Its down to cost surely?
If moneys no object get a performance jobbie made or buy an off the shelf performance goodie.

not sure what the qustion is but an off the shelf is likely to be cheaper, if you can get it to fit. If you canlt, it may end up costing more that a
custom one whcih in theroy should a prefect fit .

Have yougot room/clearance to take the exhaust under the engine with an off the shelf jobbie?

for what its worth from experience, if you want the full potetial out of your engine get a custom one made by a REPUTABLE exhaust specialist who knows
what their doing, a badly made system can look good but destroy your engines potential. the few dollars you save initialy can cost you dearly in the
long run,
we have had three different systems made for our race car, two from the manufacturer, and one aftermarket, each one promising to solve the
predicessors failings, and all of them costing us heaps of horse power and at around $1500 each a fair bit of money,and a fortune in Dyno time trying
to find the missing HP. then i found HYTECH EXHAUST in usa, google there website, his price for a custom made stainless system with a money back
gaurentee was no more expensive than the one i had made localy, just added freight.
no connection to HyTech just a very happy customer with alot more hp and a quieter engine

understeer= when you hit the wall front first
oversteer=when you hit the wall back first
HP= how fast you hit the wall
Torque= how far the wall moves when you hit it
