Testing Megasquirt

Hi All,

Just finished building my megasquirt, its a V3 board MS1 setup for wasted spark ignition. I've got megastim, but can't really find any instruction on testing the MS to ensure it is fully functional. My original plan was to install it over the winter, but as winter is nearing an end (hopefully) I really don't want to start pulling the car apart to put the MS on and find it aint working, and then waste the whole summer trying to fix it.

So anyway, if anyone can give me some instructions on testing the MS off the car I would be very grateful

Cheers

Scott

PS When I got my MS from DIY Autotune I got one of there pre wired connector, but it aint fully wired for the MS-Extra, does anyone know where I could get the pins to add some wires to this.

Hi.
you need an stimulator card.

It plugs into the MS and has dials etc on it so you can simulate a running engine.

Do a search on google.

If you have the simulator then you just connect it to the ecu and connect the ECU to the pc with the tuning program running.
You can then see the dials on the screen change when you adjust temp, revs, O2 ,and throttle position on the simulator.
It will give you and idea of how it all works but until it is installed you can only check the basics on the sim.The ecu will have a basic map in it but you will need to install a correct map for your engine.
Paul.

I've got a stim and I've plugged it all in to, but I kinda expected to get some more feedback from the LED on the MS and the stim, but they don't seem to do much.

Cheer

Don't forget to turn 'Wheel for stim' on in Megatune or else it will just sit there.

Once it is on then you should get flashing injection leds and fuel pump led.

It MUST be turned off again before you put it in car.

Under the 'spark' menu as 'Stim for wheel'

Once turned on you should get dancing injection leds.
