Xr4i front hubs

Does anyone know if the xr4i front hubs are the same as standard ones i.e do they take the same ball joint etc.

Yes they are the same, they tend to have the little hole in them for the ABS sensor, i welded a big dollop of snotty weld over it then ground it back a bit to tidy it up, perfect!

i used Xr4i front uprights on my indy - the ball joints fitted no problem.

not sure if the hubs are the same as standard - I have a feeling that the bearings are bigger as are the brake discs.

Note the Xr4x4 are not the same.

HTH

Cheers

Mark

4X4 has different front uprights, bigger hole for the strut to bolt into.

early type i.e. 2.8i XR4i uprights had the "taper with a nut on top" type fittings, 4x4's had the pinchbolt type, again not interchangeable.

iirc I don't think they do, seem to remember the lug offset on the mounts is different.

I have had both and tried interchaging them but I can't quite remember the outcome, other than I'm pretty sure it didn't work!
