Do you really want to go for an MOT before SVA???? It's unecessary. And the DVLA inspection can often either be done @ home or (if you pre-book) on the way back from SVA...

Personally I'd drive to the SVA test!! I trailered to my first and it was PITA!! Driving the car (without plates) on the road is a laugh (especially in speed camera fest NW London) and if you're worried the car might not get you to the test, the test itself might well be a problem!!!

Mot check is just make sure all is well in the alignment, braking depts and not a through the system test. I would still preffer to trailer the car to the SVA as this would be the cars first real shake down run . Dunfermline to Aberdeen is alot of miles to find something wrong that may have been over looked with not a lot of space to store my tool chest to rectify
