What have I forgotten?
So I've got three days left before my SVA. I'm running out of jobs to do and was out of the workshop by 7pm last night (last 3 weeks have
been 9.30pm). I've even started polishing.
Thing is I've got that feeling that I've forgotten something. You know, the one you get at the airport and you always remember the second
the 'plane leaves the ground!
So what was the thing that you forgot before SVA?

make sure it's full to the brim with petrol, the odd tools to take too.

I think everyone feels like that.
I'd not driven mine above walking pace before setting off for the SVA, and wasn't convinced it would even get there!

The only things that were done "at the station" were the odd bit of trim that weren't that obvious, but since MAC1 went with me and
took a box of spare stuff we just used that.
The moral - take loads of spare trim/nut covers etc with you...
As Joe said, plenty of petrol, and make sure your battery is fully charged before you go all the lights work as they should. Are your headlights
easily adjustable for the lens checks?

Take some U trim and some other SVA bits with you. Also, at Chadderton they dont have a coolant fan when doing the emissions tests so be prepared for
your car to overheat.
Also, he does get under the car and tinkers with everything so check all of your brake connections (I forgot one which was leaking)
Double check the under side of the dash for projections and radius. He failed mine for that.
Good luck though, mines back for its retest next Tuesday

Cooling was fine the other day for 40 mins at revs and idle in the workshop setting emmisions so should be OK at test.
Headlights are set but only need 4 screws out to adjust.
Battery is good so should be OK.
Lots of trim, zip ties and tools (inc laptop for Power Commander) going with me.
If a brake pipe leak I'll never live it down at work! They do need bedding in but if the weather hold I'll drive ther and do it
enroute.
In fact apart from polishing and some trim to fit, theres not a lot left to do. The other day I decided to do some sort of bracket for the rear
valence (bit flimsy on the Fury) and had enough time that it turned into a diffuser/undertray. Held back from doing the whole underside 'till
after test.
I'll post some pre-SVA pictures tommorow night.

Check all fluid levels INCLUDING DIFF!
Guy who shall remain namesless forgot this and never made it to SVA

The clock cowl is an addition to get around the Yamaha clocks edges not being radiused. It needs the Sierra wheel back on to get the right hand side
within the exempt zone. The edge is covered with large edge trim.

Wasn't sure it wasa secure enough to not fall off after SVA, but I quite like the look and it hides the speedo from the passenger.
Think it should be OK unless I've totally missunderstood the regs. In which case I'm stuffed!

Well my understanding is that if you can get a tennis ball to any edge - that egde must have the correct rolling radius.
I think you can still get a tennis ball to the bottom of those clocks. I could be wrong though just how I understood it.

It's a 165mm diameter sphere, so quite a bit bigger than a tennis ball. With the Sierra wheel in place the exampt area comes to a vertical line
through the 2k mark on the rev counter. Everything to the left of that is protcted by the cowl and handbrake lever.

Good luck...
from bitter experience last week.... Take a LARGE container full of water just in case!
An give yourself loads of time! My car was stripped down at the side of a garage 20 mins before the test because it dumped it's coolant! better
to get there early and have to wait for an hour or so!
