Noise Issues

Hi,
I have a trackday coming up at Donnington next week and am worried about passing noise (98dB(A) Driveby) in my blackbird powered indy. Ive made a very large can and have an airbox but I have noticed that a lot of noise comes from the engine itself. Has anyone lagged their engine bay to reduce noise? Also the airbox pokes throught the bonnet so I have been thinking about lagging the top of this. Any comments welcome.
thanks
carnut

You want to insulate your engine??

It's a tricky one. If you wrap it in rock wool you'll cook it!! You need a heat transmissive, sound insulating material....

I was more thinking of covering the inside of the bonnet and side panels with foam or something similar rather than lagging the engine itself which agreed would cook it.
