R1 Clutch Cable
I have been looking around for a clutch cable for my r1 engine and have seen that mnr sell one suitable for a kitcar for for £55 , as this seems very
expensive ( not that im a cheap skate) is there anywhere else you can buy one or even some ideas of what to make one out of ?

MAC1 sell a long one that you can adapt to fit that is £30.
Or send a U2U to TimC as he had one made specifically for him which was terminated very nicely and made the perfect length. I can't remember how
much it was but it wasn't too dear...

Ben, try RDB93 on Rossfield trading estate. They do all the gear cables for my mate who builds grassers (and he likes a bargain!)

I just used a Mk2 Escort one for mine which was about a tenner from a motor factor, and chopped it down to suit. For a nipple you can get solder-on
ones but I simply cut the last 1cm off the end of an old copper brake pipe I had, crushed it onto the end of the cable with a vice, and soldered it
with a blowtorch.
If you turn the clutch arm round on its splines so the cable is in a straight line from footwell firewall to clutch arm, you only need about 60cm of
cable.
