Massive thanks to Guinness!

Back from hols after a fortnightin sunnier climes you may remember my random request for anyone to transport my drunken ebay winnings from Somerset to Newcastle 2 weeks ago...

Well unbelievably after a more than generous offer from Guinness, a friend of mine in the South West picked these Landy wheels up and left them in a dark barn near Bath where, 24 hours later, Guinness picked them up and transported them back to Newcastle!

Thanks dude! Cant thank you enough Mike as it simply wouldnt have happened had you not have been doing the job in Bristol and been reading LB randomly that afternoon!

U2U me when you are free since theres some beers in my ridge for you!

Thanks again - the power of LB eh?!

Geoff

Erm, shucks thanks.

But I've never been to Bristol

No problem, much better to go on an adventure to a barn in a field than sit in the hotel bar that night.

Has the Disco gone?

Been thinkin' about a 'fender for my next purchase. Ideally a 130 crew cab pick up, or a 110 crew cab at a push.

Cheers

Mike

(Oh and I clocked up 2,700 miles on my hols!)

Lovely though your thanks are and definitely warranted - I'm not sure how pleased he will be to have beers direct from within your ridge!

What can I say?!

When you build up the courage to check out my "ridge" Ive checked and there is definately some beer in there!

Disco is officially gone and now owned by someone I work with - I quite liked it in a funny way. Nothing like anything Ive ever driven before but so capable...

Off road it was amazing what it would do - we were off-roading in a party with £30k of tricked up defender and despite giving away air locking diffs and huuuge tyres plus ground anchors and winches the only thing that really stopped us was our ground clearance and our tow bar being low at the back and impairing our attack angle.

Amazing machines but dont expect much refinement on the road!

Ive been thinking the same about a Landy. Dad has a series 1 with V8 that is begging to be put back on the road..............
Disco would make more sense as a second car though.

it is tax exempt. As far as i can tell it just needs some chassis repairs to the rear half. Its already had series 2A axles (bigger brakes), new springs, new tank, canvas and hood sticks, new wheels and tyres. Loads of other bits and bobs done. I think he has most of the parts for an LPG conversion too. Would benefit from some new paint but not essential. Im just put off by the 15ish mpg that it will probs only do.
Doubt he will let it go but would be good to see back on the road.
