Easy, flick the roller wheel on your mouse and then click a button.
The roller wheel makes the ball go straight up providing its not swinging.

Pah! - I can flick the ball up and achieve multiple clicks before it comes down again! Without cheating. My mouse is great though!

That's fun for a bit. I figured out that you can get it every time, just let the string hang from the side of the box by moving the mouse out of the play area towards the top right. Then place your pointer right next to the box, move inward over the ball and click immediately. It's cheating I know.
