TEDIOUSLY SLOW-YAWN!

Dunno if its just me,but is this site slowing down?
I have a fast internet connection and most sites/web pages open up instantly, but this site is now sometimes so slow for me that i give up.

I get the same - I'm on a very fast link at work, but the opening page takes anything up to a minute to appear. Same happens if I refresh the page, or use the home page link to go back from a topic. I tend to use the 'back' button to avoid this delay.

Weird thing is, the page loads much quicker on my 56K home link... I have no idea why...

Hey! Who did that!!!

I just had a shock - I clicked on the LocostBuilders link, and the home page appeared in less than a second... made me jump!

If it was something you did Chris - well done!

BUGGER! It was a cached page - still slow when I do a refresh.

Hey!

Now it is going faster! Whoopie!

(and I'm not talking about cache'd pages, either - I checked)

Chris,

Can you repeat whatever you did before, just as a test? (you bounced Apache, or something).

It's just that the site has started to go a bitslow again, over the last couple of days. Not as bad as before, but it's 'developing'.

If the bounce fixes things, then you may have a slowly developing problem (memory leak, or similar).

cheers,

David

Will do it now. Planning on moving LB to it's own server in the next few days which should solve speed problems. Got a spare 466 Celeron machine with 2MBit bandwidth allowance going spare which should do the trick...
