My rebuild

Hey ho
I picked my kit up yesterday. so the fun begins again!
Big thanks to the MNR guys for getting my kit ready quick time.
amazing how much the chassis has changed from when i picked the first one up a year ago, i'll post some pics

i'm not having reverse this time round.
so i do have a tight deadline....
but hoping to have it pretty much built in 12 weeks, as i know what i'm doing this time round! kinda

Is it a rebuild in as much as a totally new car but re-using the registration number?

Hi John, Car is looking good so far, you have been busy

Just one thing with your prop that you may not be aware of seeing as you had a reverse box last time. I was told by a few members on here to keep the centre bearing as close to 90degrees to the prop as possible. I don't know if you've fixed the centre bearing to the chassis yet but you may want to make an ali wedge to fit under the centre bearing and another to go on the underside of the mounting plate to keep the bolt square as when you connect the prop to the engine it is angled upwards and puts stress on the rubber part of the bearing.

Here is a picture of mine in the making to show you what I mean.

The lottery numbers are 22 18 7 4....the rest are a secret

I made the wedge from a piece of ali plate. I marked it on the ends and one side then carefully used a grinder to remove what I didn't need, finished it up with a file.

I'm sure you could buy wedge shaped ali but don't know where from.

Cheers
stu.
