Pipe advice needed please.

Probably the wrong place but as its chassis, fuel, suspension i dint know where to put it.

What do you chaps think of the clearance for the fuel feed? I plan on running rubber hose from the outlet along the chassis rail to the pump which will be mounted infront of the axle on the crossmember.

I know the axle shouldnt mover far but im concerned about the clearand between the panhard rod and the outlet.

Pipe clearance?
Pipe clearance?

Pipe clearance 2
Pipe clearance 2

Thanks

Shouldn't the tank be flipped around so the feed is in the rear? This way, there is less of a starvation issue under braking.

Why would there be a starvation issue under braking?? surely the fuel will slop forwards?

Am i missing something obvious and being exceptionaly dim? Tell me if i am.

I don't think you're missing anything, the fuel would indeed slop forwards under braking.

that looks a touch closer than I would like if its going to be just a rubber pipe bend coming off that.

You could make a 90 deg bend in steel or copper pipe, and join it with a rubber stub (and pipe clip obviously!!) to the tank outlet, then put the main pipe onto that. Then you have no worries about it moving over time and chafing on the panhard rod.

That's what I'd do anyway.

I'd be tempted to cut half of that off, it's rather long. If it's lower than the panhard rod you shouldn't have a problem with it.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Ah, yep, I meant acceleration I'm putting my feed to the rear of the car. Pete has a good idea, though. If you are going to keep the cell in the current orientation, you could chop a bit off.

Still, I would turn the cell so the feed is in the rear....

Thanks lads. I think ill chop it a bit and see what happens. The rubber pipe wil be clamped down so should go anywhere.
