funny looking ears at the front

So......

Every locost is having a pair of funny looking things at the top-corner of the upper rail.

If you place the diagonal exactly under the upper rail and place the second one exactly the same inwards. What happens?

Your arc which give u extra negative camber in roll will be smaller.

My Question is:" will anybody notice this when we drive it with less cambergain?"

There is a thread somewhere else on ears. I think you would seriously upset the steering geometry if you do what you propose, however if you leave the upright and bracket where they are and plate the inside corners I think you could cut the ears off without any bother, the only question is why do you want rid of them?

I am thinking of extending my ears to form the headlight supports can anyone suggest why this is a dumb idea?

I'm asking because i'm building the Tiger-avon by the book. Only my upper rail must be smaller to fit nose cone and bonnet.
So i've made it smaller, what happens similar to the picture.

the rest of the geo's is under control.
Bumpsteer, camber, roll-centre etc.
The only thing i don't get is that camber-gain-story. My camber-gain is now .3 degr by 25 mm drop.

Grtz

They're not ears, they're light bracket mounting points.
