Cat in MK exhaust

Im going to need a Cat for emissions part of IVA and future MOTs. Ive got an MK supplied manifold and silencer but am struggling to find a cat that is small enough to fit between the manifold and silencer.

I plan to shorten the straight pipe after the Lambda sansor but this still only leaves about 8" max, shortest cat I can find is about 10".

Looking for a bit of guidance/inspiration from what any body else has done!

cat

Hi
We had the same problem on our Indy R1,
Used a bike can with a decibel killer in it + a S/S
elbow & a straight chrome trim bashed on the end
we got the cat from the US.
this lot came out at 97 db for the IVA.
Good luck
René

Not very locost, I know, but with all the outlay to buy a car and get it shipped to Spain,, I couldn't risk a
problem with emissions failure out here.
I bought a a used MK silencer/cat from Danny. In appearance, indistinguishable from the standard item.
Sailed through emissions test, and I do believe Dan will hire out the same item to get your car through UK IVA.
I now have a £150 'spare' silencer/cat. My car's due a new test in nov 2015.
