does the oil filter fit when engine in?

hi everyone,
was looking at the oil filter the other day and it looks a bit of a snug fit? has anyone been able to fit the filter on with the engine in position as it looks like it will fail the chassis when trying to get it on? I need to buy a filter yet so this is just by eye although it looks like a tight fit!

can you guys advise whether the zetec has a mass air flow sensor?

cheers

Hello James

The 2857 is short but not as short as the 4546, i've got a 2857 sitting in the garage doing nothing you can have for £3 which is what it cost me trade just add for postage.

I'm away in Dorset from weds morning for 7 days so cant really do anything until i get back if you want it.
