Which oil do you guys use?

Hi Guys
Which oil do you guys use in your BECs. Poofy haired Jon Ison recommends Motul semi synthetic. Riossi (carnells) only sell semi synthetic for superbikes but is there a better/different one for BEC use and yes I have read the article by Redline oils regarding oils in BECs but it stops short of actually recommending an actual product.

Well my moneys with Mr Ison
If you change your oil regularly why pay the extra for fully synthetic? Motul has just been upgraded to 50% synthetic and will hopefully give the clutch less chance of slipping. i used to run bikes on normal oil with no problems, just more frequent changes.

Only my opinion though, i ain't no oil expert.

Im not sure on the "Motul upgraded to 50% synthetic" bit, my understanding of it was that an oil is either mineral based, or synthetic based, and "semi-synthetic" is just a marketing name used by the oil companies to sell premium quality mineral oil, I might be wrong though.
I use Castrol R4 fully synth in mine and have had no problems. The Redline article is very good, and Gavin (who wrote it) wouldnt want that article to be seen as a plug for the Redline brand, but it is a very good quality oil and a lot of the racers and other BEC drivers use Redline. I'll probably switch to it when Ive used up my two cans of R4.

I used to use the fully synthetic Motul, but it's sooooooo expensive. I now use Shell's full syn, what ever it's name is.
It's quite funny, the way everyone has their favourite. A couple of years ago, most of the Shell Superbike Series riders out here, were actually using Castrol (including the Shell sponsored team-so I'm reliably told), then one of the sidecar blokes who was doing quite well at the time, piped up that he was using Shell fully syn, and everyone jumped ship again!
Just don't use ANY type of car oil.

Cheers, Rorty.
