Blade regulator

Hi All,

The regulator went on my bike the other day so I swapped it out with a spare.

Unfortunately the spare is duff (came with my engine kit for the BEC), overcharges the battery @ 18v as I found out when the bike stopped on the A21, spent the rest of the day waiting for the RAC.

Does anyone know how to test these, putting the old one back on it now seems to have started working again (bad contact on the multiplug maybe), with a clock on the battery I see around 14 volts, the current draw is around 1 amp and the needle kicks every few seconds down to zero.

The thing also gets hot very quickly, the overcharging one never gets warm !

Next question is if its knackered, given that these are prone to problems is ther a better altenative from another bike ?

Cheers Mark
