Prop center bearing mounting
As title, need to weld a piece of plate onto the chassis to take this bearing. Whats the loading here? Im thinking not a great deal but stand to be
corrected.
Thinking along the lines of a 4-5mm stainless plate.
All ideas read with interest!
If its broke, fix it. If it aint broke, take it apart and find out how it works!

i have a piece of 50 x 50 box welded in between the 2 lower chassis rails to mount the bearing horizontally.
Not driven it yet but it 'shouldn't' give any greif.

So I could go thinner then? Maybe 3mm?? Or stick with the original idea of 4mm??

3mm will be fine but for extreme piece of mind just put the 4mm in then get on with the next part of the build!

As in Roadrunners photo we used 3mm plate bent in a u channel 20mm x 80mmx20mm

There should be pretty much zero load on the centre bearing. Bear in (g!) mind that it's mounted in a rubber doughnut already, which would take
a beating before the mounting does!

Stainless (?) welded to mild steel --- !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Use plain mild steel, stay clear of using anything other than mild steel unless you know enough about metallurgy to know what the result will be.

Long time mate is a fabricator. Stainless to mild is not a problem......
