1999 4XV YZFR1 engine tuning.....

Hello all, i was just wondering if anyone knows of any specalist tuining garages for BECs. I have a locost with a R1 engine, its a carb. Im not sure if any of my local bike garages would be willing to do this as i would also like a dyno read out. I live in Taunton, Somerset. Any help would be great! Rescued attachment d705_1.jpg

The nearest BEC tuning centre to you is probably PDQ in Taplow, Berkshire.

There aren't really that many places that can both tune and dyno a BEC. Never personally used PDQ for tuning but they seem well respected.

I took mine to a car dyno place. He ran it on the machine the told me it was fine up to 7000 RPM then got progressively more lean so I neaded to go up a main jet size. I took out the 144s and fitted the 150s. He ran it again and said it was now gaining slightly from 7000 to the red line. He gave me some nice printouts too.

If you don't want anything more than that, I guess you don't need a bike engine specialist.

I jnow i look like a poser but i have never owned a car that makes me grin for hours after driving it.

Cheers Sam
