2006 honda VTR1000 engine wiring loom starter switch

ok I have had a quick look at a schematic and did a search through the archives about wiring looms.

after I dismantle the loom from the bike I want to know how to disable the ignition barrel to allow the engine to be fired up through a push button. I know I need to use a series of relays for this but I am curious what I will have to to do trick the ignition control unit into thinking it still has a ignition barrel.

any helpfull regarding this for any bike is appreciated, especially a carb fed engine

if you have the whole bike you should be able to use the starter button circuit from the right hand switch cluster and then re use the ignition switch in the dash of your car,on most bikes there is not a start function on the key.
Cheers

As above, I just wired an R1 the same way using the original wiring that went to the start button on your wiring diagram and extending this to a momentary switch on your dash.
