Puma Tacho - J15

I would ideally like to use the Rally Design RMD gauges in my Sylva J15. I have a Tacho output on the EMU/ECU pin (48) that runs to the instrument cluster and directly to the above unit. Can anybody tell me if the specs of the Ford EMU and a after market Tacho are compatible.

I phoned Rally Design but the chap could only quote the settings on the rear like 4/6/8 cylinders. A calibration pot. An indication that it wires on to the primary of the coil if you have one. What happens with Ford wasted spark! No reply!

I could take a simple pulse generator and work out a bit more of the picture like the number of pulses and their amplitude per 1000/revs but that would only be useful if I had the same information about the RMD gauge.

Any ideas?

I have ETB gauges - the rev counter is connected to one of the coil pack wires, easy.
