Personally,and IMHO I don't think the 5exi chassis should be looked at as a benchmark for a mid engined locost. From the pics in Which Kit recently it seems to be a little lacking in triangulation(perhaps the photo was of a half finished chassis)

Body parts for mid-engined cars? I am building a GTM Libra at the moment (not exactly low-cost) but it uses a front and rear section that swivel away. And they are pretty roomy too... Maybe these would be something for all you builders?

I was personally thinking something along the lines of ron champions passenger cell, with front and back ends as the Libra.
