XE Fitting
Im pretty new to kit cars. Im just researching which kit to buy and the Indy was my preferred option.
Ive already got a Vauxhall 20XE engine to fit, and contacted MK about having the engine mounts sorted out for it.
I wondered, is it possible to fit the XE in an Indy with the 7degree slope the engine should have? Or do they need to be mounted horizontally?

perfectly fine fitting it either way.
Dax fit all theirs at 7 degrees, but I purposefully fit mine horizontally on the recommendation of Yukspeed (a legend in XE escorts).
7 degree installation will require the 7deg bellhousing (obviously) and you can use a manta big wing sump.

thanks for the reply.
The reason(s) i ask i because i have seen a 7degree bellhousing for sale and wondered if it was of use.
Also, i will be using a set of GSXR throttle bodies mounted to a cut off XE inlet manifold.
Are there any pros or cons for fitting one way or another?

yes it is of use. I believe they retail for just under £150 normally.
I cant recall Yuks reasoning behind fitting it upright but it centered mainly around the RWD inline installation benefiting from a straight upright
fit.
He was keen to dismiss the fact that the engine was designed to be run at 7deg.

Ive got a set of 88mm omega pistons to go in it. To make it a 2.1L 
It was destined to go in my mini but I thought the power it would make would be better suited to the Indy .
