Mk customer service

Didnt want to get to this stage but it seems im not the only one on here with problems with mk.
Its over 3 weeks ive waited now for a receipt for my chassis so i can submit iva paperwork apparently ive had 1 posted and they say everytime i ring them ill email it now??? Also waiting for replacement ball joints which have perished these too have been posted, just dissapointed.
From the day of collection theres always been something missing
Ordered a indy r kit
Missing from 1st order : suspension arm bush and collar
: 2x ball joints
: no rear mounts for flexis which i had seen welded to the chassis they showed me prior to order
: no braided flexis
: no brake pipe or t's( got my own was sick of waiting for stuff)
:
About 3 weeks later i collected £1500 worth of parts
: coolant pipe kit 120? Only used 1 pipe as all wrong
: reverse starter wouldnt fit as the threaded lug on the chassis was welded on the piss
At this point rack boots still missing
Fuel tank took them fuel pump and sender to custom into the tank and the sender mount hole has been welded in too low ( oh and when i collected there were no mounts welded to the tank?
Bottom ball joints have been fitted to the car since end of november its not spun a wheel or been out of the workshop and the boots have perished right through???

Doesn't look like they are getting any better at all since I bought mine. My ball joint boots also perished without the car even being driven. Looks like they have a load of old ball joints that have been boxed up for years without seeing the light of day. You can get replacement boots like I did,i gave up trying to deal with them after all their lies about parts that had been posted but never arrived.
My brake pipes were also all wrong and I ended up redoing them all from scratch.
A proper shoddy company to deal with.

Road Runner Racing LTD are just as bad !!!!

Some people can never handle the truth and always try to shoot the messenger instead of taking an honest look in the mirror (its always easier to blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!

The abundance of threads like this about MK make me want to keep saving a bit longer and go with MNR.

They have taken his money, and now they can't be bothered to put themselves out to supply a piece of paper!

Beginning to think that something has changed at MK and they are turning into cowboys. Probably too busy bragging about their race success!

These are currently my thoughts but after visiting both and the kits costs being around 3 grand diffrence and mnr not wanting to do the chassis to take a zzr 1400 i picked mk.
I think its only fair that people shelling out money for a mk or other builder should be made fully aware of the down sides to a company.

Ive only placed one order with them for parts but they forgot one of the wishbones despite charging for a pair. Pleasant enough to deal with and they did send on the missing wishbone a week or so later. They didnt enclose a receipt and still haven't sent this on despite several reminders.
Both errors should have been easy to avoid if they are using even a simple accounting system like Sage or Quickbooks as the invoice would aslo serve as a picking list for stock.

It would be good to see MK Sports Cars and MK Engineering join forces again. The emphasis at MK Sports cars seems to be on racing whilst Martin gets on with development and clever stuff. Somewhere in the middle there needs to be focus on the core product in order to keep their market share and keep customers coming back.

A WH Smith receipt book works just as well!

How can any company firm send anything without paperwork!!

Just to clear up a little misconception here.... mk sports cars has nothing to do with mk engineering they are 2 seperate companys

And i have never had a problem with either company myself

My bottom ball joint gaiters have perished as well, just from sitting in a warm garage.

Any idea where I can get some new ones ?

I got all mine from ebay. A shop called panda tools or something, just do a search for ball joint boots.

Most car motor factors do the boots now as split boots are now a M.O.T failure

Yeah we carry a selection as we are an MOT station as well. If you get stuck give us a call and I can probably get some on their way today for you, or take to Newark with me?

They agreed to make me a pair of wishbones for my MNR and advised they'd be a couple of days. So away I went happy as Larry and booked my double trackday at Spa for 4 weeks later.
long and short of it.
they where rude to my wife when she called for a progress update, they told me "it wasn't there problem" when I called them to advise they hadn't shown up next day when they finally did post them. Should have arrived on the Tuesday but the tell tale date on the stamp showed me they didn't get posted till the Thursday.
Never did make it too Spa and lost that 700 quid to.

Wishbones finally arrived and are spot on. Such a shame!

the boots of my MK have also perished and the previous owner had only done 30 miles in it, are they a standard fit?

As for service i have only dealt with them direct so far living locally to them and they have been more than helpful, no complaints so far!

Surely MNR would have been the place to go to though?
