Orange Broadband - Any good?

Hi All

I'm looking for a replacement laptop and have been drawn to the £300 off any laptop deal with PC World, in exchange for me signing up to Orange Broadband.

I'm aware of the discussion here but was wondering if anybody has signed up to it I believe it's rebranded Wanadoo. My main concern is that it seems a popular deal with PC World and there may not be capacity to cope with the increased demand in setup and use. I'm looking at the unlimited package btw.

me too, free with the mobile phone contract, had wired modem connection then called and asked about wireless setup, everything was sent out free. Never have any problems with it, the laptop offer seems good.

Iv been with them for years. Never had a problem.. My mums has been to. I probably will go with them still when i move house. Especially if the offer is still on. Ill do it in the wifes name and have the free laptop.

My mates etc are on different isp's and they have trouble quite regularly.

Sounds good to me then!

Tiscali were absolute bast***s to get a MAC number from - they even told me that PC World's laptops were rubbish! Thet tried to give me free calls which I don't need and said that Orange Broadband was hopeless - hardly ethical!

Thanks Guys!

When I left Tiscali to go to Talktalk they gave me MAC address almost immediately. In fact they were so good in moving me on, made me wonder why they didn't react like this with the problems. Perhaps due to more experience.. or maybe I wasn't paying the bills... so they didn't want my business.

A bit of a pot calling kettle. I had so many problems with their business broadband service. Only ever got one person who had a clue.

Wouldn't worry too much about the capacity.

Pretty much all exchanges have at least 100Mb/s backhaul connectivity, and many now have 1Gb/s.

Yes Orange=Wannadoo=Freeserve

I've decided to go for it - prompted by the screen on my old laptop dying every few minutes!
