Luego front wishbone lengths?

Can anyone help me?

I have a set of Luego front wisbones, bought from the bay that were advertised as Velocity bones.

The bones measure 402mm bottom when measured centre of bush to centre of balljont, 234mm top when measured centre of bush to end of threaded bit.

This is around 60mm more for both bones than the original ones in Ron's book.

To me that says they are designed for the Cortina upright, I thought the Velocity used Sierra uprights.

To check my conclusions I made a wooden jig to hold the bones and check the camber. At minimum adjustment this is slightly positive, I know I need negative so something is definately up.

Could someone provide measurements and/or tell me if there are Velocitys out there with Cortina uprights?

Thanks

David.

EDIT - its LUEGO not LEUGO STOOPID.

sounds like you brought the "wide track" wishbones.

who did you buy them from?

Wide track bones?

I take it Luego do a wide track conversion for the Locost.

I bought them off ebay ages ago....

Luego do/did a locost a Velocity and a Velocity XT.
The way I understand it is the Velocity was a locost with brackets to take the sierra rear diff.

The Velocity XT (Extra track) was the same as the Velocity but has wider track both front and rear.

So the Velocity used Cortina uprights and this was a wide track conversion for that model?

The locost was a base book type model..
with as fat as i know not IRS...

The velocity (XT) is bigger XT is just the 2nd version of the velocity as far as i know...

the XT takes normal sierra stuff exept a 7,5inch diff (1 bracket to move).

Also there is a viento wich is a huge car...
compared to the other 2..

Tks

The Luego Locost WAS available with IRS . Guess how I know. I thought the Velocity uses Sierra uprights but could be wrong.

I thought the Viento used the same wishbones and uprights as the Velocity. Same driveshafts as well, I thought the extra track is gained at the front by the mount positions and at the back by negative offset rear wheels. Whoever owned Luego just after they folded told me this at a Newark show.

I agree, the Velocity uses Sierra uprights, I think I have some 'wide track locost things'. They are definately Luego designs.

I dont really know where to go, I think I have done a 'MisterGrumpy' by searching through the old posts. I feel your pain MisterGrumpy.

It is a shame because they are unused, powder coated, bushes fitted and in really good nick. Time to weigh up my options I think.

Interestingly if the top bone was a bit shorter (to get the camber) the are perfect for a +4 and would give the same track as the Haynes Roadster. That will be a matter for the future thread though.

If they are of no use to you try Casarva on ebay for the correct arms
