Rotoflex or Lobro couplings.

Hi guys.
I have been wondering if it might be a worthwhile upgrade to add a Rotoflex or Lobro style coupling to the Blade setup. I crapped a box a while ago at Winton (Oz) and was wondering if adding one of these couplings would reduce harsh loads on the box? Also curious as to whether or not they reduce drivetrain chatter under light load at cruising speeds?

If you are talking about adding a rubber driveshaft coupling then yes it will definitely reduce the instantaneous shock on the engine's gearbox, however this may also be down to the way you drive.

You can launch the car with much stress on the gearbox by having a slight pressure on the handbrake and raise the clutch to take slack out of the driveline and pre-load the gearbox and launch and drop the handbrake. This method is widely used in drag racing.

I can't say that it will stop you destroying gearboxes but would be worth doing and would reduce the shock on the driveline.

Sounds like it's a good idea to have one in there. Is it just a case of unbolting the propshaft and mounting the coupling between the hubs or do I have to have the shaft and coupling balanced as a whole unit? Also due to the angle of the front shaft into the reverse box I think I would have to mount it in between the reverse box and rear shaft, is this the norm?
