Refinement

This might get interesting.

What do you think is the best/most important comfort item you can have in your car since power steering (i.e. airbags, seatbelts ect don't count)

My vote's for cruise control, I miss it in my current car but I could live without electric windows and aircon

I'm not one for electric kit, but the heated front screen on my current Mondeo is fab when its frosty.

am I allowed 2 ?

Mine - yes i would agree with Cruise / followed by satnav with trafic info overlayed ( very handy for M6 / M62 ).

If kids are fitted - DVD players and wirless headphones !

Air conditioning for me, you only have to sit on the motorway stuck for a few minutes in hot summer to miss it badly.

Climate control if I had to pick one, but very closely followed by cruise control.

Would happily do without heated seats/mirrors/screens, electric mirrors/windows/seats and other comforts.

I do like a good stereo though!

I would have to say climate control closely followed by rain sensing wipers

Climate control for me and a left arm rest

Living without central locking would be a pain in the backside too - depends on how far up the evolutionary scale we are talking really...

never use ac myself, except on the hottest of days. Thats only a few days a year for me. If its a cold day, put the temp to hot, if it a hot day, put it to cold, and then adjust fan speed to suit.

With climate control you set the temperature the first time you drive the car and will rarely ever touch them again.

I really like electric adjustment of mirrors, but why don't they fit it to the centre internal mirror? With electric adjustment you could get it spot on without having to stuggle with the adjustment and lean back in the seat multiple times.

Maybe some high end cars do have it?

Cheers

You can do it quickly. You can do it cheap. You can do it right. – Pick any two.
