Anyone know the Polo Fan Switch Pinouts

Hi All,

My fan switch is not switching the fan on. I have wired it assuming the two pins are earth and switched earth to the fan but I have a sneaky feeling that the switch body may be earth and the two pins are two switched earths for a two speed fan? Is my hunch right should I be wiring to earth and one pinout? If so which is the lower temp pin and which is the higher temp pin? Any help appreciated!

Wire live to one pin, other side to fan, then second wire on fan to earth.

Its just a switch

If it's just a 2 pin then it doesn't mater which way the wires are, the two temp switches are 3 pin

if you put the wires together the fan should come on.

What the boys have said, this is a picture that may help. My fan is a 2 spead jobbie. Pretty sure the fan came off a mk2 golf like this VW MK2 Golf GL OEM Radiator Fan From A 1.8 8V GL - FWO | eBay although had to make a bracket.

Cheers Rich

It's a switch - pure & simple!

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

As said above, think of it as live in and live out (to fan) as the temp rises it completes the live circuit to the fan

Ahh, okay, thanks all, looks like I may have a wiring or switch fault. I'd better get the multimeter out!
