bike mirrors

I've seen some bike mirrors i like very much but before i get any i want to check that they are iva ok . Firstly am i right in assuming that bike mirrors must have to have the same safety requirements as those used on cars ? Ie : same radiased edges and being able to fold in ? Also does it make much difference if the lens is glass or plastic ? Cheers !

Chapter 8 of the IVA manual has all the info you need. The mirrors need to meet the radius requirements but I don't believe there is a requirement to fold in, however they must be adjustable. Also they must be approved, e.g. E marked.

I went with GSXR mirrors as they have nice round edges so meet all the radius requirements.

I used bike mirrors, passed no problem. They only have to fold if they are beyond the outside edge ie: the wheel arches/cycle wings
