private reg plate year

I'm not normally a private reg person but as this car I've made is just a bit of fun I thought I might consider getting a private plate even though a large part of my brain is telling me it's a waste of money but, my friend owns quite a good plate but it's an '04 plate and my car is a SVD P reg. As it's Bank Holiday Monday and DVLA are closed I thought I'd ask on here. My car manufacture date on the v5 is 2015??

If urs was given a p due to age of donor then I believe that will be as new as you can make it. Check notes on v5 for more information on donor or other dates?

I'm sure its car registration date they use, not manufacture date, so you won't be able to use a 04 plate.

Any replacement plate has to be the same age as current or older than the one assigned.
Not sure you can do it on an age related at all.

It's not the age of the current plate that counts. Just the reg date of car, you can jump between any plate age as long as its older or same age as the reg date. However on a kit there will be either a note on the v5 or on the dvla system that notfiys them of the donor age.
You can definitely replace an age related.

I see so even though it's first date of reg is 2015 the donor still dictates the plate that can be fitted.
