bonnet catches
I got a pair of spring loaded hook on the front and some lever type catches at the back that I'm pretty sure are not SVA ok. (sorry got no pics
but you can imagine what they llok like?)
Is ther anything I can fit to them - cut rubber hose is one thing that springs to mind or is the only way to fit the rubber cover type catches 
don;t want to be drilling more holes in the bonnet.

Rubber SVA compliant ones available from Lolocost £24 for four. I didn't want to pay that much for these but could see no cheap way arouind it.
Lolocost are the cheapest I've found.

I have seen pics of a car where the owner had bought the normal £5/pair over centre catches and riveted a bit of shaped rubber sheet on the latch to
cover the sharp edges. Apparently it passed SVA.

just needto figure a way to make my own rubber covers just for SVA.....

I have built some silicon covers (see photos) and Mr SVA was happy with that.
It's the cheapest way, perhaps not the quicker, but you can avoid drillling new holes in the bonnet.

I've had a look at some pictures of recent caterhams - they seem to use metal catches - how do they get away with it ?

I think the lo-locost SVA complient catches are Cheaper from RS

Try giving Tiger a call, they supply the same metal catches and give you a (fairly crap) carbon effect cover seperatly, and a rubber surround that
pushes over the spring ones....not SVA'd yet with them but maybe be worth a go for the sake of a bit of cash saving....Oli.

A while back some of us on here snet off for 'samples' from a company... got 4 free rubber catches
a few people did it so it was obvious but it has been a while now so you may get away with it again ?

this is exaclty what I have in mind; covers that slip on for SVA.
