Fuel hose clips

This queston has been asked and not answered on the westy forum:

Whats the difference? After reading through a few different SVA guidelines it seems securing clips and not jubilee clips must be fitted to the fuel hoses.

Is this correct? If so whats the difference and where do i get them from?

Interested in the answer because I have used jubilee clips throughout.

If you mean the clips to join two pipes together...Fuel pipe clips have a continue band on the inside which gives a more even grip and will not damage the rubber pipe. Suspect there is really very little benifit in their use but if it is for SVA then so be it. Most motor factors have them on the shelf and probably cost less than jubilee clips. They tend to use a small nut and captive nut to tighten the clip.

I got mine from a local motor factors. IMHO they are better than jubilee clips.

If you can't find them, I'm sure Halfords will have some, but at what price

Got some, £1.49 for two at local motor factor.

Can't see any real benefit over jubilee clips other than they may be less damaging to the petrol pipe. But what Mr SVA wants MR SVA gets............ Rescued attachment petrol clips.jpg

The trouble that can sometimes happen with jubilee clips is that when tightened up really tight they can distort the tube into a 'pinch' next to the screw adjuster, which can allow petrol past.

Theoretically the proper clips don't do that - the downside is that you have to get the right size as they don't have much of a range of capacity.

But, in the end, it's just as you say - the tester may well expect to see the right ones, so you might as well get them!

Hi, Seeing as the Goodridge type anodised fasteners use a jubilee type clip inside I presume that this is a fail?
Or does anyone know different.
If they are a fail I'll probably fit proper double crimp type clips as used on fairly high pressure industrial & hgv fluid/air pipes .
These are rated for anything up to 150-200 psi and tighten evenly around the pipe.
