Locost mk1 escort rear axles

Hi all-new to this building lark. Quick question for someone in the know-i've heard that when putting a mk1 escort axle in a locost that the diff is offset to the drivers side. Can anyone confirm this as i know english axles are symetrical.

Thanks, JJM

The axle may be symmetrical, but the pinion is offset @ 20-30mm.

I built this part of chassis symmetrical around centreline. Rear photo shows axle symmetrical, whereas view from handbrake shows pinion offset. Rescued attachment P6160011.JPG
