Ford Alternator wiring

I have a standard Ford Visteon alternator on my Duratec engine. There was no plug fitted when I bought it and the alternator was understandably not putting anything out.
The plug markings are 1.2.3. Does anyone know which wire goes to which terminal. The Visteon website has Fr, Sig, A, as the terminology for the 3 pins. The output terminal is seperate as usual.Can anyone help to explain how to wire it up..
