May not get through IVA with a welded diff. Pretty undriveable on the road if welded, it'll wash out horrendously, then you'll need loads of right foot to go round corners/roundabouts. Great fun for 5 minutes but it gets boring when your tryin to park! and if plod see you goin sideways then 'you're nicked' sunshine - they'll try to pin dangerous driving and a dangerously defective car so you'll lose your license and possibly the car as well.
Can't use welded for racing, in fact apart from some stock car I don't think welded diff is legal in motorsport.
Use as it is until you can afford an ATB

ooh, i really hope you didn't ask if you should weld it up...

NEVER weld it up, unless its ONLY a drift car and goes to tracks on a trailer, it'll be shite for anyhitng else if you weld it up. its quite ok to have an open diff!

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

if you weld the diff i can 100% guarantee darwin will come and get you.

look up videos of how a diff works then you will understand why welding them up is the route to death.

15 posts and I would think a younger member
We all started with questions and this forum will always deliver an answer sometimes robustly but don't stop asking.
A 7 will go plenty sideways without welding or a LSD
The ATB, I have one ready to fit, is gentle in use, not dramatic, the Sierra viscous LSD again is a late locker, softer on the road, plate diffs an be tuned with ramps plates and springs to get the lock where you want it.
