Single button release? Only £30? I wouldn't trust it to hold my trousers shut, let alone a steering wheel on.

Do a search on here and have a read about horror stories from previous users of QR bosses. I've got two lockable ones (one on the kit, the other on my Defender) that don't split without a key. Unfortunately they don't make them any more, but they do crop up on eBay once in a blue moon....

I've go one of those on my 7, although I haven't used it on the road yet.

It seems to be well designed and made and is good value. The small button is depressed and the outer ring rotated through about 60 degrees to unlock the wheel. The wheel locates by three large lugs which seat in recesses in the hub. The locking ring has cut outs for the lugs to enter which then close over to lock when the ring is rotated. The little pin is set to be upright between the spokes when locked so it is a visual check that all is ok.

There is no slack, it is actually rather too tight and can be a bit of a struggle to engage, but i'm happy with it.
