Clutch cable too long

I have tried fitting the standard Sierra clutch cable to my Vaux engine, ali bellhousing, type 9 box combo and it is atleast 1/2 inch too long

Any ideas? Any other cables I could use?

Thanks

Can you make the lower outer cable mount adjustable? I once drilled the centre out of an M14 bolt (set screw)and put it through the outer cable mount and put a nut on each side effectively making the outer cable variable length - copied it of a pushbike brake cable but on a bigger scale

Good ideas guys. I'll look at that tomorrow. Think I'll put a spacer at the pedal end and an adjster at the clutch end

Thanks
