Torque settings on front suspension?

Can anybody tell me how tight the ball joints for the top transit joint and for the steering rack ends need to be?

Cortina w/shop manual says to tighten 1st to 30 to 45 ft.lb (6 to 6 kgm) then finally to 66 ft.lb (9.2kgm).
