Suspension brackets

HI All
Any good ideas for making suspension brackets? I have tried making one bending it in a vice but its not easy and isnt very square.
Also I have bought bushes as per the book, but where do they pivot-on the bolt or does the rubber provide the movement.
If the brackets are made as per the book dimensions there is a 1.5 mm gap at the ends of the bushes in the brackets - is this right??

Cheers
Andy

Yes, don't bend them

Make them from square tube/box section, either cut to length and drill through (or vice versa) and finish them by cutting out the fourth side, making them into a 'U'
