Cobra Clubman

Any reason not to use a pair of Cobra Clubman seats in my +4" chassis?

They're £109 in Halfords so presumably I can get them elsewhere cheaper.
They seem reasonably comfy and a good driving position.

Is the only reason others don't use them that they won't fit a standard chassis? Or have I missed something?

Thanks,

James

You will find loads of seats on Ebay, just search for seats in automotive. The only thing you wont find are seats that will fit in a standard 7.

Like you say all the main stream bucket seats are just too wide for a standard chassis.

I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it

i think that is the seat i got, is it a non recliner with 4 harness holes? Got it for 100 with a small tear at halfords. I think it is 20 inches wide, but thats ok in mine.

nice seat i think, just got another off ebay, 89 pounds delivered.

They are what I am using James. Fit nice and snug in the Viento - just got to fabricate some subframes for them.

I know the Viento's tall but be careful the frame ain't too tall.... you don't wanna fall over the side!

What sort of thing were you planning on?

And where did you get the seat/how much?

I've had them for years mate - they were in the Fiesta. Got them from SCA race and rally in Norwich as it was just up the road at the time. Cost me about £90 each plus the subframes and harnesses.
