Sports Personality of the Year

So, who's it gonna be?

Surely it must be Hoy or Calzaghe before Hamilton!

Discuss...

Doesn't work like that - it is not about achievement but how much press coverage as well as the popularity of the sport.

It'll be Hamilton for sure.

Hoy or Adlington (because the BBC covered the Olympics)

Lewis next year (when BBC cover F1 again).

Should have won by mile last year --- I have suspected the BBC sports personality of the year has been fixed for decades. (OK I am still very bitter Jim Clark didn't win it they gave to some doped up cyclist that latter died of heart failure after overdosing on uppers)

Trouble is this year although Lewis took the title this year he has more genuine opposition --- Andy Murray for a start and then all the Olympic guys & girls.

Ron Dennis should get some major award also -- ideally a knighthood to two finger Her Flick.

No doubt it will be Hamilton but we shouldn't overlook the incredible achievements of Adlington, Hoy and especially Nicole Cook, who seems to get overlooked despite unprecedented World Championship and Olympic wins in the same year.

And Vicky Pendelton should be congratulated for her well-deserved Beijing gold, her principled stand against the overt sexism in track cycling... and also for appearing in those photos with her kit off

Id be happy to see Hamilton win it but it would be a hard call to award it to him afterthe superb achievements by our olympiads (if that is what the collective terms is - including the para-olympiads)

Vicky did it first, then Rebecca copied her, the discipline-hopping little minx that she is
