I know you cant use O's or I's
think 0 and 1 is ok though

MY DVLA issued number has BOTH O and 0 in it.??
If it looks wrong it probably is wrong.

Aha! The glorious DVLA making up the rules as they go along.
they don't like certain characters (like they don't like chassis numbers without the "correct" number of digits in them) but
it comes back to this- do all car manafacturers in all parts of the world avoid Os, Is etc etc. No. Do they all use 17 digits. No.
Do they make you change the VIN number when you import one of these vehicles. No......
They may prefer VINs to be of a particular type but unless it's been used before there's not much they can do about it....

My number has 1 O and 3 000's in it no problem with DVLA

My VIN is 13 digits longl If I were doing it again, I'd choose the minimum length = less stamping and uses less ink!

Mmm. How come VW's, Audi's etc have at least three 'Z's in their chassis numbers then? Whilst you have it in writing, it's
from the 'local office'...
