Clutch slipping on my Indy R1
When putting my foot down in 4th and above gears, the engine revs increase too fast (especially above 8000rpm) - I am sure the clutch is slipping. (R1
5JJ engine)
I think I have seen on here that the best option is to get OEM plates but to use barnet springs - is this right?
Having never changed the clutch I am wondering if its an easy job? Also, where should I get the plates/springs from? Is it likely to be expensive?

Some people fit 2 yamaha springs to stiffen up the clutch pedal and give less slip. It just so happens that I have 2 such plates for sale, if you
want one. It could be that your clutch is worn and this could cause it to slip. I happen to have a nearly new set of clutch plates for sale should
you need them
I had a barnett clutch plate with uprated springs and it was lovely, if a tad expensive. It is a really easy job to do. With a little luck, you may
get away with reusing the original gasket, as long as it sticks to only one of the mating surfaces.

Some people also put washers under the springs to tighten things up a bit....

Can't do that on an early R1 Ben, they use a diaphragm spring.
