As above, my 1300 doesn't seem to want to start and looking for quickest way to get her on the road this year so does anyone know of any 1300 / 1600 crossflow's about?

Cheers

you probably need to give a few more details of what happens when you try to start it.

But for what its worth, when i had a xflow, and all was wired correctly and sounded as it should, it did not start till i sorted the ignition timing, which can easily cause trouble if you move/bump the distributer

Thanks guys, I will be taking this 1300 out and doing a quick once over before I give up on it - whilst continuing the hunt for another.

Are the HCS engines out of later cars like the mk4 escort compatible? Seen a 29k 1300 for £50 out of one of these but not sure if they are close enough to a crossflow to ease change.

Seems a bit drastic!

mine wouldn't start because the vacuum connection on the inlet manifold, that used to go to a brake servo was open. Started fine once sealed
