Garage floor levelling/Finishing.
Afternoon all.
i've moved into a house that has a rather uneven concrete garage floor. It has the a finish that is quite lumpy in lines (I think from when it
was initially laid), and there are a few areas that have worn a little. I would guess the worst case lumps and dents are about 5-10mm deep.
I'm not planning on putting anything heavy in there other than it being a workshop for doing small stuff, like building RC planes, working on my
bike etc. I was hoping to level the floor, and then fit a nice thick rubber or vinyl floor on top.
I have had a quick look in wickes and found this stuff: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Special-Mortars/Latex-Floor-Levelling-Compound/invt/224669 Is that
the sort of stuff I need to use to go over the existing concrete to get it nice and flat/Level?
The only other thing, is what to do where the garage door shuts. It only clears the existing floor by a few mm, so adding anything there is going to
cause problems with the door not being able to shut.... I guess I can't avoid having a step there if I am going to install a fairly thick
rubber floor mat though.....

Finish the floor with a small lip just inside the doors.

I used this stuff smaller bags but price per kilo is a lot less if your using a few bags

Best using a drill mounted paddle for mixing.
