Yamaha Faser 1000cc engine questions

Hi all,

Has anybody used the Faser engine in a BEC?

I'm building one at the moment and have some queries:

Can I dump the air bleed system and just block off the inlets? if so how?

Wiring, with a blade its quite straight forward, but I dont have a manual for the Faser, is it the same as the R1 engine?

Any advise on this engine would be helpful.

Thanks, Andy

I'm guessing the air bleed system you speak of is the same exhaust bleed system as is on later R1s. If this is the case, you want to ditch it. It won't do what it's supposed to once you've altered the fueling to suit the new application and once you're through SVA, you're pretty much home free as far as emissions go anyway.

As far as wiring goes, I'd guess that it's pretty well exactly the same as the R1. If Haynes produce a manual for the Fazer, you'd be crazy not to get it and the wiring will be in there. An R1 service manual would probably come in handy too, if you haven't got the PDF of it already, give me a shout and I may be able to russle you up something !
